Council wasting money as jobs and services are cut. 

The West Sussex Green Party have slammed West Sussex County Council for spending over £1 Million of taxpayers money on surveys and design work on their madcap scheme to turn the A24 into motorway like speedway. 

West Sussex Green Party’s John Tyler said: “It really is a disgrace at a time when council services to the elderly and disadvantaged are being cut and jobs lost, for the West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport to be proudly announcing (WSCC press release No 530) that the council have spent £1million so far on the A24 scheme. The scheme Government is likely to sink – according to reports.

Craftily promoted as a scheme to improve safety, this cabinet member has been under serious pressure from residents to reduce the reckless speed of traffic on the road to improve safety – NOT do what the scheme will do – allow even more high speed traffic from the M25 to compound resident misery”.
